We are honoured to invite and support a dear friend and master musician Adrian Freedman for his first visit to Guatemala this April 27—30, 2023.

This is a unique opportunity to sit with Adrian (1962), master musician and multi-instrumentalist specialising in the shakuhachi Zen flute and receive his heartfelt music that captures an air of rarified peace, spaciousness and delicate beauty. Adrian Freedman’s musical life has been led by a search for the purity of melodic lines, a fascination with musical traditions from around the world, and a call to explore inner realms through the dimension of sound. Adrian has also received a collection of more than 150 original medicine songs and chants.

The retreat will begin the afternoon of the 27th with a special chanting concert with Adrian, Jaya and Saraswati. The next two nights are back-to-back ceremonial studies working through Adrian’s Lotus Rising songbook (hinario). The final day will be a chance to integrate, dialogue, share music together and receive a unique Shakuhachi flute concert and sound bath to close the energy of the space together.
